Deciding who plays in your division

Players can ask to be entered into a division. Whoever hosts the division, and whoever runs the league, decides.

Players can also be entered directly. Enter a player, under the roster, does not require a request.

Where requests appear

Open the division. Requests appear above the roster:

Waiting to be let in

The gate is advice, not a rule. You know things the number does not.

A count also appears on the season page — "Division 2 · 1 waiting" — and on the dashboard of anybody who can answer it, under Needs you:

Division 2 · 1 player is waiting to be let in.

Players do not see any of this.

What a request shows

Four columns: the player, their average, what they said, and the decision buttons.

The average

ODL Manager shows one of three things.

A counted average, where results exist in your league:

56.40 from 12 matches here

This is calculated from matches played in your league only. Averages from other leagues are not counted.

A declared average, where they do not:

54.00 their own figure — we have no results for them

This is what the player entered when they asked. It is not combined with any counted average and is never written into results.

Neither, where the player is new or the league does not record match detail:

No results, and none claimed

The gate warning

If the average falls outside the division's range, a warning appears:

Outside this division's gate of Up to 49.99

The warning does not prevent the decision. Both buttons remain available, and the division's grading does not have to be changed to admit somebody outside it.

Accepting a request

Let them in adds the player to the roster and notifies them.

Any other open requests they have made for the same season are closed automatically, because a player is entered in one division per season.

If the schedule has been drawn since the request was made, the request cannot be accepted. Clear the schedule first, then draw it again.

Declining a request

Decline asks whether you want to give a reason:

Why, if you want to say

Optional, and they will read it. "Full this season, try Division 2" saves everybody a message.

The reason is optional and is sent to the player. There is no private note field.

A declined player can request again later in the season, next season, or for a different division.

Other behaviour

Withdrawn requests A player can withdraw a request before it is answered. It is removed from the queue.
Answered requests Accepted and declined requests are kept, so a repeat request does not overwrite the earlier decision.
Leagues on hold No requests can be made or answered. See When a league is on hold.
Drawn schedules Once a division's schedule is drawn its roster is fixed, and no further requests can be made for that season.
